We developed our list of the best wood stoves by first identifying competitors that met
basic criteria. We reviewed the 17 most widely available wood stoves from that list and
scored them all based on eight different attributes. We further pared our list down to the
top five wood stoves. Our ratings take into consideration factors like pricing, warranty, energy efficiency rating, ash chute/drawer, glass viewing window, EPA certified and mobile
