What is camp meeting?
Join us for a time of uplifting speakers, educational seminars, and warm fellowship! Camp meeting is a time to come
apart from the world and rest awhile. God meets with His people in a special way when we devote our time to
seeking him as a community. Meeting under an old-fashioned tent with the green grass under our feet, we take our
Bibles and coats and assemble to sing, pray, and study the word of God.
Our camp meeting is lay-led under the organization of West Salem Mission and in cooperation with the Anbaptist
Seventh-day Adventist Church, West Salem, a member of the Ohio Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
How much does it cost?
Camp meeting is free to attend and free to camp. An offering is collected a couple of times during the meetings for
those who wish to donate. We appreciate your generosity!
Meals4we pay our caterer $5/meal per person. If you wish to cover the cost of your meals, you may do so during
registration, online, or in the meal line. However, if you are unable to cover the cost, we still want you to enjoy the
blessing! Others will help provide, 2 Corinthians 8:15. We want all to experience the blessing of healthful vegetarian
cuisine.
Do we actually camp in tents?
Many who attend camp meeting find a great advantage in tent camping. God instructed the ancient Israelites to
dwell in tents made of branches during the feast of tents (Lev. 23:42). However, camping is not for everyone, so
many will stay in a hotel instead. See our recommended lodging below.
Do I need to dress Amish?
Attire Guidelines for Campmeeting. We want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable as we gather in a spirit of
reverence. While we do not wish to impose strict clothing rules, several guests have asked for guidance4especially
in light of the cultural values of many Amish attendees.
General Guideline: We kindly ask that clothing be modest and respectful. For example:
Women: Pants are acceptable, but we ask that shorts and tank tops not be worn.
Men: Please avoid shorts and tank tops.
Out of consideration for the Amish and other conservative guests, we encourage attire that reflects modesty and
simplicity. While these values are not required of attendees, they are deeply meaningful to many in the community
and help foster a respectful, welcoming environment.
Thank you for honoring the spirit of unity and consideration. We9re so glad you9re planning to join us.
